WHY WOULD YOU NEED A PROFESSIONAL INTERVENTIONIST?

The advantage of having a professional lead an intervention is that they have no emotional attachment to the addicted individual or their family. This allows them to see the situation more clearly, without getting affected by emotions. When a professional takes charge of the intervention, they can neutralize the negative dialogue that often occurs when families try to approach the addicted individual alone. Usually, when families try to handle it on their own, it results in a shouting match or one family member blaming another for saying something wrong. This can cause resentment and further harm the family dynamic, making it difficult to find a solution and bring wellness to the entire family.

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED INTERVENTION PROFESSIONAL (CIP)?

A Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) is a trained and skilled individual who guides families and their loved ones toward recovery from substance use disorders, process disorders, and mental health issues. CIPs facilitate interventions, encourage individuals to accept help, and become part of the recovery support team. Certification requirements include formal education, work experience, on-the-job supervision, education/training, participation in interventions, and documentation submission.
